Rescue Me ID: 17-09-16-00049Lizzie (female)

American Shorthair Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Courtesy Post - Lizzie was found as a stray. She is ear tipped so may have started life as a feral. I took her to the vet where she behaved perfectly, got her rabies and distemper shots, ears treated, dewormed. She's not a kitten, but not a senior either. She is very sweet, enjoys being petted and brushed, and has even climbed into my lap. She can be picked up, but doesn't particularly enjoy it. When stressed, she simply hides. She uses the litter pan religiously, does not claw or scratch furniture, and has no bad habits. She's very quiet and doesn't require lots of attention. She would like her own person to bond with in a quiet ... (Read More)household, and I think she would blossom if she felt safe, but it might take some time. She met one of my kitties outside at the barn and they simply walked past each other with no drama. Inside the house, my cats are territorial and hiss at her. Hence my need to find her a new home. Lizzie is a very gentle soul and just wants to feel safe. - Adult but not senior - Gentle, quiet disposition, a bit shy but warms up quickly - Well behaved inside and outside, no bad habits - Enjoys petting and brushing - Low maintenance and no known health issues - Spayed and up to date on shots - Wants to be the only cat in a quiet household - Have not tested her with dogs but a gentle quiet friendly dog might be ok (Less)

American Shorthair Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs Vaccinations

At least 1 dozen feral kittens with mothers that have taken up residency under my barn. Need to remove them, but would prefer to have them taken to a farm since animal services would most likely euthanize them. Most are friendly and will stay to their own. My dog plays with them and only a few are scared of him. Kitten's age ranges from 3 weeks to 1 month. Mothers age approx. 1 year.

Charlie is a great cat. He was found starving outside and surviving on chipmunks in winter. He loves to be around people. He is good with other cats, especially female kitties. He likes kids and attention, but can be like a cat and grab, so kids fine, but maybe not really young kids. He needs a large home with things going on and loves to garden or be in yard, but only if safe from cars, etc. Very handsome and oriental face. Adoptions in and around fairfax county only, in northern virginia we think he is about 5 yrs old.
