Vegas needed a home for three years while his military family was overseas. A former navy seaman stepped up and volunteered to keep Vegas for three years or forever. We are so grateful to Rescue Me for their help in finding Vegas a home!

Callie has been adopted into a beautiful forever home. Rescue Me has given Callie and the other cats a chance to be loved and cared for by people who would never know them. The amount of people inquiring really amazed me which I had to make a choice whom should adopt. All great approved families wanted Callie. Five minutes from being sent to be killed due to reasons being caged and her first family home all taken from her. I let her mellow for one week in my bathroom for me to understand her behaviour. I brought Callie into my vet for a wellness check and to have her nails trimmed. She was a perfect patient. I am so happy for her even though letting her go to another family made me sad. Thank you, Rescue Me, for providing this site.

I rescued a mother cat and her four male kittens. I could not believe she had only boys. The mother was a very small cat. I had the mom spayed and the boys neutered. Each of them had a rabies shot. I knew I had to find the boys a home. The foster is keeping the mom. I remembered Rescue Me. I posted all the boys. I have had a lot of inquiries. Louie got a home today. Lady called and said she wanted to meet him. We had been in touch every day since before Christmas. Louie is living the dream. Big house in the country. He will be an inside cat with a young human brother. He has a nice mommy and daddy who are going to keep me updated and send pictures. They even said I could visit sometime.

We needed a home for our all black American Shorthair cat who, according to the county 'observer' that came to our apartment to evaluate Midnight, is 'play aggressive' and cannot be around children/babies. My wife just gave birth to our first son and our cat was just about one and a half years old and had recently become aggressively playful--enough to raise our concerns about having the cat around the baby. So we were living in my wife's parents' house until we could find a home for Midnight. After posting on Rescue Me, we found a very nice home for Midnight within the first month. What a relief. I cannot say enough about how satisfied my wife and I are about Rescue Me! Thank You Rescue Me! -Dan, Nisha and Midnight

Mojo is an absolute example of what a little scared kitten can become. He had to be separated from his mama and when he came home to me, he was biting his siblings. In time, he became so attached to my two males and my female cats. He went home to a great family and he now has a cat dad and a wonderful family. Thanks, Rescue Me!

We were looking for an American Shorthair cat as I had become enchanted with the breed. We were blessed to not only get one, but two very special loving cats. Thanks to their loving owner having to rehome them. We are having fun watching their antics and how cuddly they are. Thanks for your service, Rescue Me! -Dona

I had a number of inquiries about Sprite. He was examined by the vet, vaccinated and neutered. He was very healthy for having been abandoned at a gas station. He has been adopted by a wonderful cat lover, and now lives in a two-story home with lots of windows for bird watching, two cat trees and all the toys I bought him. He went from being scared to friendly and affectionate in the four months I housed him. I will miss him, but cannot have more than one cat in my apartment, and my other cat was curious about him but not very friendly. I was surprised so many people were interested, but then he had a complete medical checkup, vaccinations and neutering so I covered all his expenses. Very happy he has a great home with lots of room to play. The new owner said he already let her pet him and was exploring his new home. This is the third stray I have placed through Rescue Me.

Flash was only four to six weeks old when he was found at 5 AM crying by my fence in the middle of a severe week of thunderstorms. He was sitting by the fence in a puddle of water, cold and scared. He didn't come easily as he darted for some tall grass, then ran across a five lane busy morning street and hid inside a rolled rug in the back of a convenience store where he was then apprehended. Taken in for a warm bath, treated for fleas, eye infection, given worming medications and antibiotics. He was fed, and placed with another rescued kitten from the day before, Lil' Nugget American Shorthair Tabby, they bonded. Flash eventually was chipped, vaccinated, neutered and posted on Rescue Me. He is ten pounds of sweet cuddle bug by seven months of age. We discovered he was American Shorthair Bangal Mix, with a super long tail and beautiful color markings. He is still growing and going to be a big boy! An amazing couple, Connie and Joe from another state, saw him on Rescue Me. They drove five hours to meet him and fell in love. They loved him so much that they decided to even adopt his bonded partner Lil'Nugget too. Both are transitioning well and their new family sends me updates of their adjustment and cat antics. Another successful adoption through Rescue Me! Thank You!

Precious Gray was adopted today, This precious couple saw his picture in Rescue Me and got a hold of us. We sent them more pictures and part of his story, pictures when he was a baby, etc. He is around three and a half months now, and we are so grateful that he has his permanent home today! We were so concerned about beautiful Gray growing outdoors with his mom, dogs around, possums and upset neighbors, he is so little and we were out working all the time! We were longing for a lasting home for him, and today was the day! A marvelous day when they came in, and after some minutes of adjustment he was happy and ready to go in his little cage! Thank you so much to everyone that made this transition possible for Gray. Many blessings, Eva

I posted both Gabby and Trix on the same day, as I started to have a rash over my body and thought it was caused by being allergic to the two cats. I had been to a doctor, but he could not verify what caused it. I received a notification from a lady and her husband just days after posting. The notice seemed to come to me accidentally as she called the kitten by a different name, but I called her and told her about both of my cats/kittens and told her I could bring both of them to her house the next day. I did, and she and her husband loved them both. They decided to adopt both of them as the two got along well together, and they did not appear scared, and they let them hold them as much as they wanted. I received a note from them later in the day saying how happy they were, and I love the fact that it is so easy to deal with adopting or rehoming pets on Rescue Me! They are the best. I have used the service to adopt also and would recommend them to anyone.

I'm so glad I was told about Rescue Me. I had Snuggles' picture posted on your site plus 'What He Had to Say! For whatever reason, it took some time to find him a loving home. Then the calls started flooding in, all had fallen in love with him and wanted him. The day or two prior, he was neutered, given all shots and tested for HIV, (negative). Plus, I had him micro chipped. One young lady who happened to live close to me called and wanted him, she just fell in love sight unseen except for the picture. Out of about 10-15 calls, I chose the young college student. I knew the moment we talked, Snuggles would want her as his new Mommy!. She met me at Paws, day of surgery and took him home. She has kept in touch, telling me everything about him plus how happy they both were. From the pictures, yes, he is so happy with her and adjusted immediately. I knew I was really going to miss him. We snuggled together all the time, I knew I would have kept him, but knew my other four cats needed me as well. I was very sad day he left me, but so happy he'd get all the attention and playtime he needed. His Mommy is perfect for being able to give him the total love and attention he needed. All in all, I'm so happy your site came thru for me and finding the perfect home for my Snuggles! I highly recommend this site to all. All animals need attention and a loving home so please give these animals the chance they all deserve, adopt, you'll be so happy as well as your new pet! You know, these helpless guys have feelings most don't think about. Well, think about them because I guarantee you would not want to be put in a cage or worse yet, be put to sleep! If I had the means, I'd adopt, especially those who will be put down if not rescued by you or no kill shelter!! My daughter paid for two kitties I had left, one neuter, one spay. A friend of hers wanted female next thanks to this site Snuggles was adopted. Sorry it took a while to post my story, but here it is! Done, now I'll be making my donation to Rescue Me! Thanks so much for helping. -Snuggles and Original Mommy, Jaclyn

Wally and his sister, Bonnie, were rescued from a trash heap in Dakar, Senegal, when they were about two weeks old. They were hand reared and bottle fed and remained in foster care with the only animal welfare organization in Senegal for more than one year! They were finally adopted together by the best family ever! Valerie, Richard and Luka heard about Wally and Bonnie from a friend of ARL Dakar in South Africa. They were on their way to Dakar on assignment and arrived in Senegal from South Africa during and asked to meet these two lovelies. It was love at first sight and Wally and Bonnie joined their new family in the beginning of October. We visit them often and they are the happiest, most loved cats ever! Thank you to Rescue Me for helping us find a loving home for Wally and Bonnie!

Things worked out really well for Tiger Lily! A lady responded to our Rescue Me post and asked if we thought she would be ok with the little dog they had? She said she was going out of town and could we keep her till she got back in a couple weeks and left her phone number. I called back and said the dog should be no problem since it was little. I said that I hadn't mentioned part of the reason she needed another home is because I was having trouble with pet allergies and even thought she was going out of town, could someone take care of Tiger Lily for her until she got back. I would be going away too, and would be gone when she was due to arrive back. She said her husband was not going with her on this trip and maybe he would be okay with getting her before she left. He was, so they came (with the dog, Princess, so they could meet each other and be sure they got along). They did just fine! Sharon (the lady) picked up Tiger Lily to get a better look at her. She was putty in her arms, like she knew Sharon was her new Mom! By the way Tiger Lily and Sharon are both red heads! We helped load their car with Tiger Lily and all her personal effects (dishes, litter box, etc.) and off they went. A happy ending and happy new beginning for all! Thanks so much for providing this site! It helped get dear Tiger Lily the perfect forever home! I would recommend it to anyone with a similar need! I forwarded the email that was sent to me after the adoption and I'm sure that the donation requested will be sent, if it hasn't been already. Thanks again Jeff and to whoever helps with this site! Well done!!! -Kim

I posted my cat, Luci on Rescue Me on either Tuesday or Wednesday, and on Friday I received a call. The lady said her cat of many years had died six months ago, and she looked just like Luci. After a couple more phone calls, it was decided that Lucy would be a perfect match for her. We are going to deliver Luci to her on Sunday. I'm sure Luci will be very happy with her because she will be the 'only' cat, and that is what she wants. I'm amazed that for a cat who is about five years old to be adopted so quickly. Like it was meant to be.

Two out of the four kittens found an AWESOME home with a loving family. I had these kittens posted without any hope of them being adopted, I did not want to take them to the local pound where I could not guarantee that they would find a home, and I did not want to have to turn them loose, especially without them being fixed, but I lost my job and could not afford that at this time. A friend told me about Rescue Me and it is awesome. I am recommending this site to several friends, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I had to put my cat, Holly, up for adoption as her hair was irritating my right eye, which I've had considerable problems with. I had her posted on Rescue Me for adoption when I received an email from all the way across town wanting her for their 16 year old daughter. Two days later, they made the 60 plus mile trip to look at her! They loved her immediately and will be back next week while they are on vacation to pick her up. Holly will have the love and affection she needs and the 16 year old girl will have a wonderful present. So, it was a happy ending for everyone! Holly loves to cuddle and now she can do that without causing any harm. I will miss her, but I'm happy for her to have found a loving home.

Squeeky finally found his forever home. He had been given up by his owner's family after she passed away and they were unable to care for him. He found himself in an overcrowded shelter until our rescue group was contacted. The other three cats that were rescued with him found homes sooner than Squeeky, but his personality - which many of our volunteers said was 'awesome' came through and he found his furr-ever home !!! Thank you, Rescue Me.

I praise God the Creator and I thank you Rescue Me and Claws and Paws Rescue of West Branch who contacted me with THREE prospective forever homes. It was an all-out cat fight for Abby! The man who adopted her lost his Calico 10 days ago to old age. The moment he held Abby, the tears began to fall - his, mine, and everyone's! Thank you!

Thank you so much for caring, Jeff. I just adopted two kitties to a great family. These were kittens that were born of a stray cat that made her home on our porch. I am on my back recently with a back injury and can no longer care for these kittens. Even though stray, my heart goes out to any animal and so wanted to find a good home for them. I had asked and called all over, and no one seemed to be able to help. This is the first time I've run across Rescue Me, and I am so grateful. This has been so helpful.      We had to put our dog, Loki, down Labor Day weekend and our hearts were heavy, along with our other cat that was Loki's best friend, so we were hoping to rescue another cat to fill our empty hearts. We met Titan's owner and fell in love with him immediately. He is a beautiful, loving cat... We took him to the vet and found out he has a heart problem, and needs to be monitored every few months, but we are loving him. He's a big beautiful boy that loves attention, giving kisses and playing. We are thankful to have him.

I got a response to the posting for Galway, my silver-gray gentleman cat, almost immediately. It seems his new owner, Pat, had just lost a 22-year-old male cat companion, who needed a successor. Fortunately, Lord Plushmonster, as I sometimes called Galway, really loves to have his photo taken, and made himself irresistible. Thank you so much for being there. I'm in kind of a spot, having to move to a place where no pets are permitted, which will be hard for me. But Rescue Me rescued ME! Thanks again, Bill

Wanted to share our happy ending & Gimli's new beginning! We are relocating and could not bring Gimli. It was urgent we find her a new adoptive family. We placed her for adoption on 7/16/12 in the morning & that SAME morning a nice gentleman called saying he was on a mission to find a family cat & Gimli seemed perfect. The following evening after the family consensus that Gimli was to be adopted, father & young son arrived to pick her up. It was heartbreaking to send her off with them but they were very reassuring she'd be loved & cared for so that helped. We believe they also liked using the site & rescuing a good sweet cat in need of adoption! THANK YOU to this family for helping us entrust our beloved member of the family to them! AND THANK YOU JEFF GOLD & RESCUE ME! SITE for the accessibility & use of this essential service being a way for pet owners to do right by their pets in the face of time sensitive situations!8ol

Zahara and Casperov found a new home together with a very deserving couple. This couple lived in an apartment with a dog they had for nine years and a cat they had for two years. The cat actually belonged to a sister in law who moved into a place that would not allow her to keep her cat. Once the sister in law's lease was up she relocated to a place that would let her have her cat, so on a Monday the sister in law reclaimed her cat leaving the couple with their nine year old dog. Sadly, earlier in the month the complex where the couple lived had sent a notice that they were no longer permitting dogs. All dog owners had until the end of the month to get rid of them. The Friday before the sister in law claimed her cat the couple had given up their companion of nine years. By the following weekend the couple realized they missed having a four legged companion. They began searching for a cat or kitten of their own when they saw the article and pictures of Zahara and her brother Casperov. The couple fell in love with the kittens. They went to Walmart and purchased everything they could think of the two kittens would need, even a nice big cat carrier. I interviewed them and they came to my house so that I could meet them and they could see the kittens. The couple wasn't there five minutes when Zahara and Casperov were all over them. It was love at first sight for all four. I was impressed with the couple. The way they handled the kittens and what they said to me. All four left together in less than hour. It has been a happily ever after since.

He flew from Atlanta just to come and adopt her, all thanks to the fact that he saw her through Rescue Me! Great web site! Sofia
